14-Day Mind-Body Reset FAQs

Interested in the 14-Day Mind-Body Reset program, but looking for more information? Here are some of the most frequently asked questions I receive. Check them out, and if you still have questions or want to discuss further, email me (dawn@mindbodynutritioncoaching.com) or give me a text or call (813-803-0098).

What foods do I get to eat?

This reset is primarily designed as a plant-based hypoallergenic diet. During the 7 days of the cleanse phase, you will be eating whole, fresh, organic foods, including most fruits and vegetables (see exceptions below), leafy greens, berries, brown rice, quinoa, beans, legumes, lentils, nuts, seeds, nut butters, avocado, coconut oil, fish, chicken, turkey, green tea, yerba mate, stevia (in moderation). During the following reintroduction days, you will begin adding back foods you had eliminated, one at a time.

What foods do I avoid?

You will be avoiding gluten (e.g., wheat, spelt, rye, barley, oats not labeled as gluten free), dairy, beef, pork, sausage, cold cuts, eggs, corn, soy, nightshade fruits and vegetables (tomatoes, tomatillos, eggplants, peppers, potatoes, goji berries), bananas, strawberries, oranges, grapes, dried fruit, coffee, soda, alcohol, sugar (including natural sweeteners like honey and artificial sweeteners).

Do I really need to give up coffee?

You are strongly encouraged to give up all coffee, decaf included, for the 7 day cleanse phase. Coffee is very acidic and dehydrating, and caffeine can severely tax the detox organs, such as the liver and kidneys. Even though decaf coffee only contains trace amounts of caffeine, it is still acidic and dehydrating, and the caffeine is usually extracted with chemical solvents, making it a poor choice during the cleanse. Your cleanse guide offers some suggestions for managing without coffee, such as substituting green tea or yerba mate.

Remember, it’s only for 7 days. You can add it back in during the reintroduction phase.

However, if you feel you absolutely cannot give up coffee, you can still gain significant benefit from participating in this program.

Is it ok to exercise during this program?

Yes, in fact, regular exercise is recommended. However, do pay attention to your body’s signals to rest or conserve energy and choose light or vigorous activities accordingly.

Do I really need to eat organic foods?

Yes. Non-organic produce contains pesticides and herbicides that overwork your liver and increase toxicity in the body. Although organic foods tend to cost more, you’re worth it, especially during your reset program!

What if I’m pregnant? Is this program safe for me?

While this is a very gentle cleansing program that benefits most people, if you have are pregnant, nursing, are on any kind of prescription drugs or have a medical condition, do not start this program without first consulting your doctor.

What detox symptoms can I expect? Am I going to be able to function normally at work?

In a well designed program such as this one, you need not feel like crap, but you will likely experience some symptoms. After all, you are detoxing!

Symptoms may include: increased body odor, bad breath, fatigue, headaches, irritability, chilliness, dry lips and skin (dehydration!), constipation or increased mucous discharge. Your program guide provides guidance on how to cope with these symptoms.

And no, you will not be spending most of your day in the bathroom!

I hope that answered some of your questions and concerns. If you still want more information, email me (dawn@mindbodynutritioncoaching.com) or give me a call/text (813-803-0098).
